Questions, answered
Everything you need to know before you call
Still unsure? We’re happy to talk it through. There’s no such thing as a silly question.
Is my first consultation really free?
We offer a free half-hour consultation for wills and powers of attorney, so you can ask your questions and understand your options before you commit to anything. For family, real estate, business and notary matters, call us and we’ll explain our consultation options and fees upfront.
Can I meet with a lawyer virtually?
Yes. You can meet us in person at our office or by secure video call from anywhere in Ontario. Many documents can be reviewed and signed remotely, so you don’t need to take time off work or arrange childcare to get legal help.
How much will my legal matter cost?
It depends on what you need. Many matters, like real estate closings, wills and notarizations, can be done for a clear flat fee. Matters that can change course, like contested family law cases, are usually billed hourly. Either way, we’ll tell you the cost before we start, and you won’t get a surprise bill.
I'm not sure which kind of lawyer I need. Can you help?
Absolutely. Life rarely fits into one box. A separation can affect your home, your will and your powers of attorney all at once. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll point you to the right service, or to the right professional if it’s something we don’t handle.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring photo ID and any documents related to your matter, such as an agreement of purchase and sale, an existing will, a court document or a draft contract. If you’re not sure what’s relevant, bring it anyway. We’ll sort through it together.
Do you serve clients outside Halton Region?
Yes. Our office serves Halton Region and nearby communities, and we help clients across Ontario through virtual appointments and remote signing.
